Ortley Reunion Report
(As reported in the Waubay Clipper) The Ortley Town Reunion was held July 3 at BJ's Cafe in Ortley.
About seventy people (actually 74+) attended from Summit, Ortley, Waubay, Watertown, Rapid City, Webster, Florence, Vermillion, Aberdeen, Milbank and Sioux Falls; Springfield, MN; Sauk Centre, MN; Burnsville, MN; Richfield, MN; Excelsior Spring, MI; and Fargo, ND.
The afternoon was spent with lunch catered by BJ's Cafe and then visiting, sharing old pictures and taking new ones.
Gifts were given to the following people.
Joe Leavitt came the farthest, from Albuquerque, NM.
Ardean Richardt had the most children with seven.
Lester Kampen graduated with two years of high school from the Ortley School.
The oldest person was Mrs. Louise Miller and the youngest person was Megan Sitter.
No plans were made for the next reunion.
